Generation Unlimited Youth Challenge

Our Time, Our Turn, Our Future
Program
Description

Generation Unlimited is a global challenge for partnership between public and private sectors and youth in order to prepare young people to become productive and engaged citizens. It connects secondary-age education and training to employment and entrepreneurship, empowering every young person to thrive in the labor market.

The competition in Armenia is organized by the UN Armenia, UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA, and the Ayb Educational Foundation.
Armenia hosted the competition in 2021 and 2022.

In 2022, the competition was supported by the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Synergy Armenia, Startup Armenia Foundation, and other companies from private sector.

The Generation Unlimited Youth Challenge enables young people to:

  • contribute to the society;
  • raise their voices, unleashing their potential in entrepreneurship, education, environmental protection and other fields;
  • serve the developed programs and ideas to tackle social issues in their own communities.

The competition goes through three stages: acceptance of applications, incubation phase, and international stage that marks the conclusion of the competition.

  • In the initial stage, 12 teams—each representing a unique idea—are chosen from the applications that best align with the competition's requirements. Working with mentors and accomplished professionals in their respective fields, each of these teams creates a prototype of an idea and presents the work during the bootcamp.
  • Usually five ideas go to the next stage, obtaining AMD funding equivalent to USD 1000. During the incubation phase, teams carry on with the implementation of ideas.
  • Through the jury's vote, only two teams get the chance to participate in the next, international stage.

The Generation Unlimited global program contributes to clarifying career orientation, developing young people's potential and realizing that for the benefit of Armenia.
