Create a Robot, Change the World
Program
Description

In 2016, the Ayb Educational Foundation introduced the World Robot Olympiad (WRO), becoming the only official representative of the Olympiad in Armenia and the organizer of the national stage of the competition. With this Olympiad, Ayb seeks to promote the teaching of robotics, programming and engineering in Armenian schools.

The competition is a platform to develop:

• logic and engineering skills,

• creative mind,

• skills in applying theoretical programming knowledge.

The competition gives the opportunity to enter the international round of the World Robot Olympiad for those achieving the best results.

WRO is a team competition. Each team can have two to three participants. Students aged 8-19 can participate in the competition in the respective age groups. The assignments of the WRO’s national round are the same as those at the international round. Surprise prizes await the national stage’s winner teams. The main prize winner will receive a ticket to the international round of the World Robot Olympiad.

During 2016-2022, 92 teams and 264 students participated in this prestigious international competition. The winners of the national round got the opportunity to represent Armenia at the international round of the World Robot Olympiad.

Through a memorandum signed in September 2023, the Ayb Educational Foundation transferred the rights for holding the competition to its partner, the Contests' Lab Educational NGO.
