The Kangaroo international mathematical competition is the first mass competition organized by the Ayb Educational Foundation. It has been held in Armenia since 2009. Each year, around the engaging mathematical problems are gathered thousands of children from Armenia and Artsakh who participate in this unique celebration of mathematics and logic along with seven million children from more than 90 countries.
The Kangaroo competition is Ayb’s first project in massive school competitions, by which Ayb established new standards that were followed by other Ayb competitions as well. Year to year, with the efforts of Ayb, Kangaroo involves more and more Armenian students who with great enthusiasm and curiosity try their skills in the competition that has already turned into a unique mathematical movement.

The contest is open to all students in grades 3 to 12.
The format of the competition is online, which enables students to participate in the contest regardless of their location and gives them the opportunity to choose the most convenient place for them to participate.
Students with the highest results are awarded certificates and prizes, and the winners receive the main prize—a valuable gift or a trip to an annual international summer camp.
Since 2008, Ayb has brought together 441 892 student-participants from the RA and Artsakh around Kangaroo international mathematical competition, turning it into the most popular math movement in our country and developing interest and love for this subject.
Through a memorandum signed in September 2023, the Ayb Educational Foundation transferred the rights for holding the competition to its partner, the Contests' Lab Educational NGO.
