The Oganesson team took the third place at the online All-Ukrainian Open Tournament of Young Chemists

02 February / 2021

Following a heated struggle, the Oganesson team representing Armenia took the third place at the online All-Ukrainian Open Tournament of Young Chemists, being one of the absolute leaders and displaying brilliant knowledge during the entire game. Zohrab Boyajyan, Lilia Shegunts, Sona Sargsyan, Mane Kurghinyan and Ruben Khurshudyan (coach: Sona Simonyan), students of YSMU Heratsi High School, were part of the team. Apart from showing a spectacular game and winning the third place, Zohrab, the team leader, was also awarded with the “Best Reviewer” title.

Armenia, represented by the Ayb Educational Foundation, has participated in this international tournament for the fourth time. Our children always perform successfully and return with impressive results.

For around 10 years, the Ayb Educational Foundation has been organizing the Tournament of Young Chemists in Armenia, thus contributing to the establishment of a large community of schoolchildren and students keen on chemistry, and chemistry specialists, which, in turn, plays an important role in the worthy generation change in this field and in the development of chemistry studies in the general education sector in our country.

Our partners for our Tournament of Young Chemists are AZAD Pharmaceuticals and ProfHolod, which are interested in the development of chemistry as a subject and involvement of young specialists in the sector. Owing to this cooperation, the interest toward chemistry and our chemistry tournaments among the students is growing year by year, while the scientific link between employers and potential employees is growing stronger. We believe that new scientific branches will also develop in Armenia owing to this cooperation.

We congratulate our team and our entire “chemical” community. This remarkable achievement proves yet for another time that our children have a great potential to develop chemistry and natural sciences and to make them more practical in Armenia.
